Location: Home based covering the Midlands and North

?We have a new vacancy for an experienced Business Development/Sales professional to join our Power division.  The role will cover the Midlands, North of England and Scotland promoting the full range of Freedom Group's services with an emphasis on New Connections, Private Networks and Design services.

The main duties will include:

  • Maintaining and developing existing customer relationships and extracting maximum value through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods. 
  • Promoting the Freedom and British Power International brands and services across the North of England and Scotland.
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations throughout the region.
  • Developing new client relationships, products and services.
  • Taking ownership of your tenders and PQQs and working to ensure that all tenders and bids are delivered on time to exceptional standards of quality.
  • Assisting the procurement team in the development of a supply chain to deliver bids and contracts.
  • Liaising with the Marketing & Communications Manager on advertising and promotion planning.
  • Arranging and delivering successful customer hospitality events.
  • Sales organisation planning and development.
  • Planning and managing personal business portfolio/territory/business according to an agreed market development strategy. 
  • Promoting the wider Freedom Group, cross selling and promoting inter-business relationships.
  • Monitoring market and competitor activities and providing relevant reports. 
  • Attending and presenting at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development. 
  • Attending training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
  • Carrying out customer surveys to ensure satisfaction.


  • Substantial previous experience of Sales/Business Development within the Power T&D, Contestable Connections or Private Networks sectors;
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to be credible in front of potential customers;
  • A successful track record of delivering sales from 'opening doors' to successfully contract award;
  • Commercial astute with the ability to see the bigger picture;
  • A confident presenter;
  • A good level of IT literacy;
  • Ideally educated to HNC or above in a related engineering discipline.?
