PROJECT MANAGER - FELIXSTOWE PORT

Location: Felixstowe

?Due to increased workload, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager to deliver civil engineering and ground works on one of of major contracts at The Port of Felixstowe, ensuring safe, timely and cost effective delivery of all work to clients satisfaction.

The main duties will include;

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Freedom Group and its customers.
  • Assist in costing schemes for quotation as required.
  • Manage all customer-related processes in line with Freedom Group’s Integrated Management System.
  • Assist with management and resolution of customer complaints.
  • Provide immediate, authoritative, guidance and discipline on SHE matters.
  • Ensure that risk assessments and method statements are carried out and followed and that staff conform to all instructions.
  • Ensure that accidents and near misses are suitably reported, recorded and investigated and that remedial action is carried out promptly.
  • Report any concerns regarding SHE to the SHE team and your manager.
  • Take overview of work activities to be completed, and co-ordinate use of all resources including people, materials and equipment for effective and timely completion of work.
  • Ensure resources are delivered to appropriate sites in accordance with project plans.
  • Ensure all direct labour and Franchisees have relevant  job instructions, plans etc.
  • Supervise teams: give sound advice and work instructions according to the type of work being undertaken; manage performance of teams such as time keeping and productivity.
  • Induct and support new employees/team members, review performance and identify training needs of staff reporting to you.
  • Liaise with appropriate people to ensure the smooth running of projects, e.g. site managers and supervisors, subcontractors, clients, customers, landowners, suppliers and colleagues.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Substantial project management experience 
  • Good knowledge and experience of civil engineering and ground works
  • Good Health & Safety and Environmental awareness.
  • IT literacy – user level.

Qualifications

  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma or above in Construction and the Built Environment – Civil Engineering.
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme
  • NRSWA Supervisor
  • A full driving license
  • IOSH/NEBOSH would be beneficial
